2. Peace Sells... But Who's Buying
Recommended Track: Wake Up Dead, Megadeth's first ever single and a Thrash classic overflowing with time changes, head-banging riffs and explosive solos, undisputedly one of Megadeth's finest tracks. There isn't much left to be said about this colossal record. In terms of musicianship and compositional skill this represents a monumental leap forward from the previous years Killing Is My Business... album. Bursting at the seams with ideas 'Peace Sells' incorporates groove, menace, political analogy and enough riffs to fill Status Quo's entire back catalogue; all through an unrelenting haze of drug and alcohol abuse. How the band concocted such a potent mix whilst dogged by crippling substance abuse remains a mystery but fans are sure as hell glad they did! A Thrash Metal classic that could easily be considered Megadeth's magnum opus were it not for the band outdoing themselves just 4 years later. Which leads us neatly on to...
