Top 6 Post-Physical Graffiti Led Zeppelin Songs

2. Achilles' Last Stand

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6S9oqJRclo Viewed by Presence purists and In Through The Out Door decriers as the last great epic Zep ever did, there€™s surely been many a battle on Middle Earth that could€™ve used this song as accompaniment. It€™s amazing that Page retained all his fingers during the recording of this number, as guitars are layered on top of each other like some decadent chocolate cake, building and building towards multiple climaxes. But Achilles€™ Last Stand sounds like more than a band going at full force; it sounds like both exaggeration and desperation. Presence was released when punk was beginning to rise through the charts, and Achilles comes across as if Zep are frantic to stay in the top spot of rock music. At the same time, it also sounds immensely keen to demonstrate the band€™s manic powers to anyone who, after six albums, still didn€™t believe in the almighty Zep.
