But Wale has never gotten full credit for his bars on this track either. A major contributor to the public perception of Cole winning the track is how they formatted it; while both artists rapped the same amount of time, Cole went straight through for 32 lines, and made it hard to remember what Wale actually said. Giving an artist as talented as Cole, 32 bars was questionable in hindsight, but the song totally achieved its goal. Green Lantern and Mark Ronson composed one of the most grandiose rap beats of all time, and Wale and Cole simply took it home. It's a lyrical battering with these two young lions, even if though they werent reenacting Renegade as much as people like to claim. This is the 2009 Brooklyns Finest, letting the rap game know that the future had arrived.
