Weezer: 10 Worst Songs You Need To Forget

7. We Are All On Drugs

Staying indoors, being a slob, or geeks being too shy to ask out girls. These are topics of social commentary that Weezer fans are comfortable with being discussed in songs. It suits the bands nerdy image even to this day as ageing rockstars. But even as rockstars, if there is one thing this band probably don’t have a lot of expertise to comment on, it is drugs.

We Are All On Drugs was included in a Myspace compilation CD, and if there’s anything I know about Myspace music, it's that 90% of it should be left in the trash bin of history. It speaks volumes that their label wouldn’t allow the band to release this song as a single without denouncing drugs. We Are All In Love, a the kidz bop MTV ready radio edit was also released.

Why this is one Weezer fans would like to forget is that when it was released as a single, it actually received quite a bit of attention coming off the back of Beverly Hills. There are certainly a lot more worthy Weezer singles before and after this, but it is We Are All On Drugs, a centrepiece on Weezer’s most successful album that received commercial success. In future, Weezer would learn to be more metaphorical in their references to drugs, including the brilliant California Snow on Black.
