2. Limp Bizkit & Red Hot Chili Peppers - Woodstock (1999)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r992quFyThM Everybody and their granny has heard of Woodstock, yet it's usually with the accompanying imagery of Hendrix blasting out his fuzz-soaked rendition of Star Spangled Banner, or a field full of hippies making lava-lamp-like shapes whilst off their collective nut. However the Woodstock of '99 was a much more fiery affair, being that throughout Limp Bizkit's set, and particularly their smash hit (ha!) Break Stuff, the crowd starting enacting the song's title. This anarchist mentality was a far cry from the Woodstock of old, yet it continued into the following day, being exemplified by the Chili Peppers playing of Fire to a sea of burning debris, although they would later claim it was in homage to Jimi Hendrix, rather than a rabble-rousing call to flame-drenched arms. Even so, blazing infernos were liberally danced around whilst merch booths and security barriers were ripped apart and torn asunder, the resulting destruction damning the Woodstock name so much that it would never even enter the 21st Century.
