Having burst onto the scene towards the end of 2012, Jake Kennedy, who opts to perform under the name of Jake Bugg, has continued to excel throughout 2013, releasing a second album 'Shangri La' in November just thirteen months after his eponymous debut, following a year of touring and television appearances on both sides of the channel. Though Shangri-La has only peaked at #3 thus far following his #1 debut, the album, which features contributions from Elvis Costello's drummer and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, is a solid effort, and is the latest stepping stone in what will be a prosperous career for the Nottingham youngster if his momentum continues through the next few years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxjZbFpBpbE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9XwFecNXyU
Honourable Mention John Newman
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfihYWRWRTQ After initially coming to people's attention by lending his vocals to two of Rudimental's tracks in the latter half of 2012, Yorkshire singer John Newman's solo career got off to a strong start in 2013, with his album 'Tribute' reaching #1 in October on the back of two top 10 singles, the first of which, 'Love Me Again', also went to #1.
