Articulate is required to be played at a breakneck pace and with a lot of friends €- ideally quite verbose ones. The name of the game is description, as players are divided into teams of two and one of them given a card with lists of words on them. They must then successfully describe as many words from the card as possible to their partner without saying the word itself or using any lexical tricks like rhyming or the sort. Oh, and all of this has to be done in 30 seconds before it€™'s the next team'€™s turn.

A firm favourite for dinner parties (it's likely to overtake charades as the middle class party game of choice soon), games of Articulate tend to descend rather rapidly into howls of laughter, especially if alcohol€'™s been mixed in with the thesauruses.
