10 Best Terry Pratchett Books
8. Feet Of Clay
Feet of Clay is (as you would probably guess from the trend of this list so far) a book from the Discworld series. As one of Pratchett's most praised books upon release, he was referred to as 'a master of comic fantasy' by critics and it's exceedingly hard to encounter a negative review about this novel.
Published in 1996, Feet of Clay follows a string of murders that seem to have been committed by a golem. Of course, golem's are made of clay and have no sensation for emotion or desire, so the concept of one killing people is a baffling starting point for the book. However, the unfolding and discovery of a 'king' golem adds a whole other level of complexity to the killings and murder attempts. Also featured in this book is the regularly appearing figure throughout the Discwolrd series, Lord Vetinari, who is poisoned through bizarre circumstances.
Feet of Clay is not only a timeless must-read fantasy book, but it also challenges our ideas surrounding artificial intelligence and how it should be handled in the future.
