5. I'm Shy At First, But Open Up Once I Get To Know You

Now we're onto things that are almost unavoidable. To start, there's the common claim found above, seen in at least half of the profiles on dating profiles. With such an alarming frequency, does anyone honestly believe it applies to every girl who says it? Look, just because you're not an obnoxious extrovert 24/7, that doesn't make you shy. This is something that quite a few girls on dating sites need to learn. If you want an example of someone that statement actually applies to, look no further than me. Upon meeting me, most people exclaim about how quiet I am and sometimes even demand that I say something, to which I often reply by literally saying "something" because I'm lame like that. Around my friends, though, you wouldn't be surprised to hear someone tell me to stop talking so much. It's just how I am. With new people, I curl into my shell, coming out only every now and again to show that I can, in fact, speak. When I get comfortable around someone, though, it becomes a challenge to shut me up. Put succinctly, that statement couldn't fit me any better, but it's used so often that it just sounds like a hollow cliche when I, or anyone else it actually applies to, say it. Isn't it great how people can reduce something about you to a cliche that next to no one actually believes is true?
