Universal Orlando Resort Announces Fast & Furious Coaster Coming 2027
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will be taking over the skyline of Universal Studios Florida.
Universal Orlando Resort has announced today that a new Fast & Furious rollercoaster is coming in 2027.
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will see thrill seekers soar and spin through Universal Studios Florida next year. Taking over the space that previously belonged to Rip Ride Rockit, the new coaster will be like nothing the Orlando park has seen before.
Instead of the more traditional ride vehicles, these ones spin! You'll feel like you are drifting... Dominic Toretto style.
Fans of the franchise will find themselves taking on "360-degree drifting as they speed through jaw-dropping manoeuvres – including a 170-foot vertical “spike” that will send riders nearly 17 stories in the air over the outskirts of Universal CityWalk."
Unfortunately this announcement comes with confirmation that Fast & Furious – Supercharged will be permanently closing in 2027. Though for fans that like their Fast & Furious rides a little more... well Fast & Furious, this new coaster could be a huge upgrade.
Universal's Orlando park isn't the only one that is getting the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift experience. Universal Studios Hollywood will be opening its own version later this year. Fans have already been keeping an eye on this version of the coaster, which has been seen testing in the Hollywood Hills. Leaving everyone hoping it won't be long before Universal reveal when the much anticipated ride will open.
As of yet there hasn't been any announcement on when either the Hollywood version or Orlando's will open its doors to welcome fans, but we'll be celebrating with a Corona or two when we can ride with family.
