10 Biggest Reasons Everybody Is Abandoning Facebook
4. It's Full of People That Drive Us Insane
The thing about Facebook is that, although you're sharing it with everyone that you've added, mostly everything that you post is for you, in one way or another. The grand illusion of social networking is that other people care as much as you do, but really, it can quickly become an endless cesspool of unbearable narcissism. Never before the advent of Facebook have I seen narcissism to manifest itself in so many ways, each even more annoying than the last. If it isn't someone fishing for compliments by calling themselves ugly or unworthy of love, then it's some girl posting a vague melodramatic status about her personal state of affairs and then not elaborating for the sake of attention, or else some guy falsifying some really great, exciting thing that happened to him and then bragging about it, also for the sake of attention. This doesn't even start on the "I'm not like other girls" posts, or the uninformed "look how radical and original my uninformed political views are!" status updates. It's a never-ending abyss of self-obsession that can drive a hardened cynic like yours truly to weeping, so it's little wonder so many people are calling it quits on the massive social networking site.
