If you step out onto any other social platform largely populated by young people, you'll no doubt see most users turning their nose up at Facebook. I've seen the "Facebook sucks" mentality in droves among users of Tumblr, Reddit, and other sites. To be honest, Facebook has completely lost its cool factor. These days, you'll see more people laughing at the stereotypical Annoying Facebook Girl elsewhere than actually logging on to their Facebook accounts. This un-cooling process of Facebook is very much not helped by the fact that, now, literally everyone and their mom has got an account. Seriously, moms and grandmas seem to the be the number one Facebook demographic these days, and there is absolutely nothing more damning for anything aimed towards teenagers than the dreaded parents. Teenagers are the most fickle yet possibly the most valuable demographic for any social media website, and, unless Facebook can somehow ban Mom and Dad from joining, the young'uns are going to emigrate to someplace far away from the prying eyes of parents and their embarrassing comments punctuated by perhaps one too many exclamation points.
