10 Celebrities Who Need To Make Sanity-Restoring Resolutions

4. James Arthur: Think Before You Talk...Or Rap, Text & Tweet.

The life of an X Factor winner is always a bit of a sore point; more often than not, it's those who don't win the show who end up stealing the headlines in the years that follow. James Arthur apparently decided to make sure that he'd be the one taking up the space in the news by courting as much controversy as he could, no doubt sending his label bosses' heads spinning. Arthur started off by getting in to a war of words with former winner Matt Cardle, making several attacks on Cardle himself as well as his fans. Then came the now infamous "rap" where James used a homophobic term, leading to widespread condemnation. After several rants on Twitter, James said he was giving up control of his account to his management team; a spat with fellow alumni Lucy Spraggan led to Spraggan revealing a number of abusive texts that Arthur had sent to her, whilst his return performance on the X Factor - even with an apology for his behavior - was met with a cold shoulder by Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne. With his album failing to make number one and having not had a number one since his winner's single, it's not looking all that steady for James. After admitting that he had refused media training following his win, you have to wonder if it might be a good idea to pick that up in the new year after all...
