3. Kanye West - A Humble Resolution?
Kanye decided to remind people that he doesn't need Kim Kardashian to grab the headlines for him this year, letting out a series of ego-inflating rants and statements that seemed to top each other every time, drawing the ire of many. Some of those highlights have included Kanye saying that his job is "putting (his) life at risk" on stage and that he was solely responsible for inventing leather jogging pants. But it was when Kanye proclaimed himself to be the "biggest rock star on the planet" in an interview with BBC Radio One that people really started to lose it. A spoof made by Jimmy Kimmel portraying Kanye as a child led to West trashing Kimmel on Twitter; the war of words then spilled out on to Kimmel's TV Show, where West was repeatedly apologised to and effectively allowed to call himself a "creative genius" in about as many words. While his 2013 album Yeezus certainly had the sales to back up some of Kanye's claims, there was such a huge amount of hyperbole about him this year that it just got a bit too much. It might be a bit much to hope that Kanye will take up a vow of humility this year, but maybe just a shred of it wouldn't push him too far.
