10 Celebrities Who Believe Crazy Things

4. Whoopi Goldberg Thinks The Moon Landing Was A Hoax

Sister Act star Whoopi Goldberg isn't know for her scientific knowledge, but that didn't stop her going on noted nonsense-fest The View to air her skeptical views on the moon landing (on the 40th anniversary of the event, no less) back in 2009. Goldberg's views seem to be largely based on the 1978 Elliot Gould-starring vehicle Capricorn One, which deals with a fictional conspiracy to fake a manned mission to Mars. Goldberg threw out all the usual moon hoax tropes on her appearance including the big favourites: the fluttering flag, and asking who was taking the footage. She seemed pretty convinced by all of this even though ever moon landing conspiracy theory has been debunked time and time again. This is a woman who doesn't believe men landed on the moon, but does believe a buddy cop movie that pairs her with a crime solving T-Rex is a good career move (yes, that happened).
