Although it seems like a very weird thing to dream about, nightmares about randomly losing your teeth are extremely prominent in people around the world - and they have been said to have had a huge number of very varied meanings. For Freud, having teeth falling out in dreams meant that the person in question had anxiety about sexual repression and a strong desire to be nurtured. Freud himself has also suggested that it tends to happen in dreams during important moments of transition in the dreamers life. Nightmares like this are also said to represent financial worries, such as being out of a job and having no income, not being paid enough or not having enough money to pay for everyday life or an expensive cost that has been forced upon you (a fine, a particularly expensive bill, car problems that need fixing etc). Of course, the most natural reason for dreaming about losing teeth is having issues with vanity. Nobody wants to be "ugly" - which having no teeth is often representative of - so, naturally, dreaming about losing them indicates insecurities about the way we look. Also, losing a tooth - like in real life when we're children - can represent the birth of something new (in the case of losing your milk teeth, that birth would be the sprouting of your adult teeth). So, if something new is about to happen in your life - a new job, a new relationship, a new home - then dreams of this nature could be indicative of this. There are even more interpretations of this dream, but it's safe to say that nobody's really nailed down the definitive meaning of this very common one.
