10 Craziest Things We Learned From Alex Jones And Tim Dillon On The Joe Rogan Experience
9. The Carbon Conspiracy
Pretty early into the pod, Jones pulled out a few sheets of paper with various notes he'd written down containing topics he wanted to cover in his conversation with Rogan. But, don't be fooled, this still didn't stop him regularly veering off topic and Rogan being forced to routinely drag him out of various rabbit holes - the man can f*cking talk!
One of the first things he referenced in these notes was something he called the "Carbon Conspiracy". Buckle up.
This then opened the door for a fragmented conversation on whether or not Jones believed that increased carbon dioxide levels were having an effect on the Earth's temperature. Jones suggested that depending on the models being used (he later referenced a model put together in the 60's), sometimes more carbon dioxide can cause a cooling effect. However, Rogan noted that those studies were done in the 60's when the amount of data available to come to these conclusions was nowhere near as substantial as it is in 2020. This therefore makes the information used to create those models now faulty compared to the things we know today.
In response to this, Jones tried to go off on a tangent about how faulty information is still being used today, i.e. with estimated current global health crisis deaths, stating that it was predicted 2.5 million would die from it. He then stated that less than a million people have died from the virus worldwide, despite BBC currently reporting that 1,159,395 people have died from it.
Perhaps Jones should've noted down these figures on his pages before stepping into the studio, eh?
