"First I play with Judd, then mommy came, and I play with mommy. We play daddy, we had a awful good time! Now, I want to play with you..." There is something inherently creepy about kids being portrayed as evil whether it is an innate trait or through no fault of their own. Gage Creed falls into the latter category in the novel Pet Sematary. Gage was a wholly sweet little boy who moved with his father Louis, the new doctor in town and his mother Rachel, to the town of Ludlow, Maine early on in the novel. Tragedy strikes not long after however when Gage is killed after he wanders into the path of an 18 wheeler on the highway. The death clearly devastates the family. Louis, who earlier in the novel learned of a local cemetery with amazing albeit horrifying, resurrection powers brought on by an ancient Native American curse, believes that he can save his son by burying him there. Gage returns from the grave, but he is far from the sweet, innocent little boy he once was. Contaminated by whatever foul curse infected the soil, he is now an evil soul filled with hatred and cruelty. Soon after, he steals his fathers scalpel and kills elderly neighbour Judd Crandall with it and then lures his grief stricken mother into a trap and kills her too. Only Louis can overcome his diabolical son and injects him with a lethal substance, killing Gage, once and for all.
A self professed Stephen King/Star Wars geek and pop culture neophyte, Scott tends to spend much of his time alone pondering life's greatest mysteries.....he also depends heavily on his son Liam, a great sounding board, to set him straight on Star Wars issues and gives him advice on what EXACTLY he's doing wrong.
