Fanfic Of: Avatar: The Last Airbender Plot: Bad Ends isn't so much a single story as a series of eleven very short stories unified by a morbid theme. Basically every plot point in the show where one of the characters was seriously in danger but got bailed out before they experienced lasting harm has been changed for the worse. Commentary: Imagine if instead of being a cartoon suitable for Nickelodeon, Avatar: The Last Airbender had been written by a particularly grim parody of George R. R. Martin. Seriously, even the edgy comedians at Robot Chicken wouldn't write fates for the characters like many of these. Author Shadow Wasserson seemed to be making a sincere effort over two years to write these stories with taste and tact. He isn't graphic in describing violence for the most part and tries to rely more on suggestion than bloodthirsty descriptions of harm. But the idea is so pointless and repetitive that you have to question why he bothered to do the same thing over and over again, particularly with some of the taboos that get broken. And yet almost none of these outcomes are worse than the 2010 movie The Last Airbender being made. Read it Yourself (NSFW)
