Fanfic Of: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Plot: An everyman in a generic rundown city finds a box with the living cartoon character Rainbow Dash in it as a foal. He raises her as his own "daughter" and fifteen years later the other cartoon characters come to bring them to her animated home world. Commentary: What, no gore, monsters or torture? No content that would be generally considered NSFW? Not even anything that would be considered a horror trope? Not only all that, but the story's actually meant to be a heartwarming tale? How can it possibly be included here? The nameless protagonist is why. It's not made explicit in the story, but there are many parts sprinkled throughout which make him seem like a loathsome sociopath. Describing how his neighborhood is full of litter, he says he doesn't see the point in picking it up if the other "people" don't bother to maintain it, with people actually in quotes like his neighbors are a bunch of potential subhumans. Later on, after an incident where he has an argument with Rainbow Dash, he describes that as the worst day of his life, even worse than "the day of (his) parent's deaths." At the beginning of the story he describes how when he watched the cartoon he would try to reach his way into "that beautiful world... only to be stopped by my computer screen." He's clearly not a very well-balanced person, and yet the story unironically treats their relationship like a beautiful thing sadly cut short. That's much more creepily revealing than all the intentional horror in the other entries on this list. Unfortunately many of the fans of My Little Pony saw this creepy person as identifiable, and so it became one of the other most viral stories on the internet. Bronies were practically tripping over each other to make movies where they told the world that they were that guy.
