5. An Unexplained Disturbance
In 1871, an elderly woman who lived in a residential property owned by the monarchy complained of loud noises in her living space. She claimed to have been kept awake all night by annoying sounds of knocking and bang on her wall.
Nobody believed the woman, insisting she was just senile, until a gruesome discovery was found near her apartment. During an excavation in the fountain court, two skeletons of men had been hurriedly buried underneath a cloister. It was believed they ran afoul of Roundhead soldiers during the civil war (1642-1651).
The skeletons were given a proper burial and afterwards, the woman never heard any constant disturbances in her apartment again.
