10 Creepiest Hauntings At Hampton Court Palace
3. Headless Anne Boleyn
There have been many encounters with the ghost of Anne Boleyn in several royal establishments, from her childhood home Hever castle to Windsor castle where she and Henry resided, as well as the Tower of London where she was executed. She is considered to be “the most well travelled ghost in Britain”.
There have been a few sightings of Anne Boleyn’s ghost wondering the halls of Hampton Court, although the recalling of how she appears differs between stories. Her dress colour varies from being black to blue and some have said that she appears headless because she was killed by beheading. Allegedly, two American tourists were found shaking with fear and had to be calmed down after seeing a headless figure in the young Henry exhibit.
Anne is said to movie with a slow, sad countenance. Legend goes that she sometimes consoles Jane Seymour because of how she tragically died so soon after the birth of her son.
