10 Deadly Roller Coasters That Killed People

6. Wildcat

WildcatPark: Bell's Amusement Park (Oklahoma, United States) Ride Opened: 1974 Deaths: 1 Bell's Amusement Park originated as a tiny park, offering a few amusements and pony rides. However, it soon grew into a popular theme park, with several roller coasters. One of the main attractions was the Wildcat steel coaster, which had a capacity of 900 riders per hour. In 1997, a mechanical failure on the Wildcat allowed a car to roll backwards from the top of a chain hill, causing it crash into another car. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3k-jTpVNeY The collision resulted in the death of a fourteen-year old boy, while seriously injuring six other riders. Following the disaster, the Wildcat was disassembled and moved to several other theme parks, before being refurbished and settling at the Jolly Roger theme park in Maryland. Bell's Amusement Park closed down in 2006.
