Ride Opened: 1921
Deaths: 3 One of the oldest roller coasters still in operation, the "White" Roller Coaster is still a popular attraction of the Lagoon Amusement park. However, it has been involved in a number of tragic incidents since its opening in 1921. The first occurred in 1934, when 20-year old Henry Howe fell to his death after attempting to stand up while the ride was in operation. 12 years later, worker James Hess was fatally hit by one of the trains while repairing the coaster's scaffolding, dying of arm, leg and skull fractures, as well as internal injuries. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qg9IdUJ1r1Y Most recently, in 1989, a 13-year old girl fell to her death after standing up on the ride. She died almost instantly, and was declared dead on the scene. Despite these three incidents, the "White" Roller Coaster has continued to be renovated and remains a popular fixture at Lagoon Amusement Park.
