10 Deeply Disturbing Disneyland Urban Legends

4. Ghosts: Cheap Labour

More Disneyland ghost stories, but this time relating to Disneyland's employment manifesto. According to some rumours, former employees of the park are occasionally forced to return to their jobs even after death, perhaps as punishment for not being very nice people.

One account relating to Haunted Mansion again suggested that a guest had seen a young man walking on a moving walkway within the ride, looking at a piece of paper who had suddenly bent down and never re-appeared. And when the guest asked other riders and staff if they'd seen the man, the answers all came back negative, suggesting the presence of a cast member ghost.

Could it have been the ghost of Javier Cruz, a former cast member who had played Pluto, who died in 2004 after falling in front of a Beauty And The Beast float and being crushed? The bending down element seems to fit, but nothing else does. And then there's the case of Disco Debbie, the jovially named ghost who apparently haunts Space Mountain after dying backstage of an aneurism and who appears in the ride glowing green from time to time. Quite why she's called Disco Debbie remains unconfirmed.

Is There Any Truth In It? As a general rule, ghosts don't tend to be very good employees, so hiring them would probably be a bad idea. But the idea of disgruntled employees trapped in a perpetual hell of working their hated job for eternity has some dark charm to it.
