10 Dumbest Things In Harry Potter And The Cursed Child
7. Transfiguring Harry Into Voldemort
During the final act of The Cursed Child, our heroes travel back to 1981 to rescue their children and prevent Delphi from telling Voldemort not to attack one-year-old Harry. In their attempt to accomplish the latter, Harry is transfigured by the others to look just like Voldemort.
Again, the central issue here is the lack of continuity. Throughout the original series, the only failsafe way to turn into someone else was by drinking Polyjuice Potion.
Granted, Ron is transfigured to look different in The Deathly Hallows when the main trio rob Gringotts. However, Rowling made it clear that he still looked similar to his original self. In other words, his appearance was altered, but he didn't physically transform into somebody else.
As such, the transfiguration used at the end of The Cursed Child stretches the established rules of Rowling’s world way too far.
