9. Teens React To '90s Internet
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0mg9DxvfZE There was a lot of struggles that only somebody who was around during the early '90s could relate to. We had to rewind VHS tapes before returning them to the video store. We had no Caller ID (and no cell phones, unless you were part of the one percent). And worst of all, internet in its infancy was slow, uncooperative and probably the most frustrating thing in the world. Well, in this episode the teens get exposed to the relentless frustration of '90s internet. The video starts out with the teens watching an old and ridiculously cheesy tutorial that tries to explain how the internet works. In retrospect, the instructional video is admittedly pretty surreal and it gets mocked for it accordingly. The host then asks the teens some basic questions about the internet. Such as: What is a modem? Before playing them the sound of '90s internet dial-up, which sounds like a fax machine on drugs. Proving once again that these young rapscallions don't know how good they have it - or we're just getting old.
