10 Famous Photographs That Fooled Everyone
6. Lunch Atop A Skyscraper
It's one of the most iconic photographs of all time. The original negative of 'Lunch atop a Skyscraper' is currently stored in a special temperature-controlled facility in Pennsylvania, and is widely considered to be an important piece of American history.
The only thing is, contrary to what was thought only a few years ago, the whole scene is totally staged. It was found in 2012 that the photo was created in order to promote a new skyscraper by the Rockefeller Center.
In all fairness, they are genuinely sat 69 floors above Manhattan. And the models are actual workers on the construction crew. Sadly, the scene itself isn't quite as candid as everyone once thought though.
