10 Heartbreaking Moments When You Realise You're Too Old For Things

5. Wrestling Is Fake

Most men remember those mornings spent watching last night's taped episode of Raw or Smackdown, eyes wide and full of wonder in front of the television set. We used to idolise the likes of the late great Eddie Guerrero and wonder why Vince McMahon allowed actual demons like Kane and The Undertaker into the WWE. You always thought these characters seemed to throw a punch in a weird way, but that was "just how the pros did it" you told yourself. When the revelation came, it was as if you'd taken a big boot to the face. You were laid out on the mat, down for the count. It's all just an act? But I watched Mankind fall from the top of Cell. How did he fake that? Now it doesn't seem as fun any more, your thirst for action and violence wandering to another supplier. To be honest, people still don't know how they faked some of the stuff from the Attitude Era, but we don't care because no matter how old we get, we'll always have that soft spot for our favourite sports entertainers.

I love all things imaginative, from the page to the screen, and nurture a soft spot for Donald Sutherland and Daniel Bryan.
