7. Japan Are Time Thiefs

It isn't uncommon for bad things to happen in places that have been occupied. Priceless art goes missing, national values disappear, infrastructure is destroyed and so on. But in North Korea something strange went amiss. During the occupation of Korea, by the 'wicked Japanese imperialists' in 1910, the Japanese were accused of stealing time.

And in 2015, many years later - give or take 30 minutes - the wonderful and unquestionable Kim Jong-un was ready to tackle the injustice head on. North Korea have announced to the world that they are turning their clocks back by 30 minutes on August 15th.

The move has been hailed as a victory against imperialism and KCNA quoted officials as saying the decision to adopt Pyongyang Time reflected "the unshakeable faith and will of the service personnel and people on the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation". Kim Jong-un also added to the momentous occasion a sentiment that a second Korean war was impending and that "not a single American will be left alive".

What a friendly chap.
