10 Historical Facts They Don't Teach You At School

5. President Bush Created A New Word By Vomiting

These days, most sensible people in the world want to vomit whenever the words 'United', 'States', and 'President' are put together. Back in 1992, George Bush Sr. was far too busy vomiting himself (on unfortunate Japanese dignitaries) to provide the kind of wacky quotes Donald Trump does today.

Then-Japanese Prime Minister Kiichi Miyazawa was the unlucky soul in question. During a posh state dinner in Tokyo, Bush threw up all over his fellow guest and must have caused quite the scene. We can't imagine Miyazawa was too thrilled to see his swish suit literally covered in American bile after shaking George's hand.

Still, Japan made the best of the situation and created a new word to celebrate this historic moment. From '92 onwards, the verb 'Bushusuru' was created so that America would never forget what it had done. Literally translated, the word means "do the Bush thing", which sounds a bit like a dance.
