Actor Vin Diesel is the byword for car chase action movies, whether it's his starring roles in the Fast and Furious franchise or as ace spy in XXX, he's no stranger to walking away from exploding vehicles, unflinching as the burning debris scatters around him. In 2002 in Hollywood reports emerged that Diesel is just as heroic in real life €“ while riding his motorbike he spotted a car crash in front of him and, quick as a flash, dismounted and dashed over to the wreckage. He quickly pulled the family €“ including small children €“ out of the car and got them to safety before the car caught fire. Whether the car exploded is open to debate €“ but since that almost never happens in the real world it's perhaps safe to assume that it was extinguished by firemen who arrived on the scene. Still, that wouldn't make for an entertaining end to the story.
