10 Huge Walt Disney World 2019 Predictions
6. Goodbye Grand Fiesta Tour
This rumour hurts me a little as I love this ride, but I think that The Grand Fiesta Tour is going to be getting a make-over in the not too distant future.
The major rumour about the Grand Fiesta Tour is that it'll be turned into a Coco attraction. Usually I don't put much stock into these types of rumours as they just seem like a best fit for a new movie, but this is one I can see happening.
Given the general movement of Epcot towards more IP usage, such as Frozen Ever After and the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster, it seems that a Coco inclusion wouldn't be too much of a stretch.
Of all the animated movies Disney has made, Coco is the one that would fit best into World Showcase. The movie is a celebration of Mexican culture and its bright, colourful imagery would work well as a ride. Coco is currently part of a Día de Muertos display within the Mexico Pavilion and it wouldn't be hard to imagine the story of Coco told within the constraints of the current Grand Fiesta Tour ride system. There's even a stage at the end of the attraction for the perfect rendition of Remember Me.
My only concern would be the current queue area for Grand Fiesta Tour is pretty short after all there's rarely a wait for the boat ride. Something would need to be reworked to allow the extra guests that are bound to be drawn in by a popular IP like Coco.
As much as I like the current iteration of the ride, I loved Coco and think it would be a perfect fit in World Showcase.
