Louis Colavecchio is a counterfeiter best known for using his skills to cheat a number of casinos out of millions of dollars. He was able to discover a method of creating reproductions of slot machine coins, using them to gain a large amount of winnings without ever paying anything in. At his height, Colavecchio was manufacturing thousands of coins every month, to the extent that casinos began to notice they had a large surplus of coins. The counterfeits were eventually traced back to him, leading to law enforcement seizing the huge amount of tools and coins. Colavecchio was jailed for eight years, and actually continued the illicit activities as soon as he got out. He was caught only a few months later, but managed to broker a deal in which he revealed his counterfeiting secrets so that casinos could avoid the same thing happening again.
