10 Insane And Bizarre Theories About Stephen King
3. He Became A Writer To Re-Connect With His Estranged Father
Stephen Kings father left when he was a toddler, the author recalls him leaving for a "packet of cigarettes" and never returning to the family home. Some years later King found a collection of short stories called The Lurker Of The Threshold, he has often said this was his first inspiration in becoming a horror writer.
The book itself apparently once belonged to his Father, and was found in his own attic. Many fans then created the theory that King began writing horror fiction because if his father was an avid reader of the genre then eventually when his books were published he would be proud of his work and reach out to his son.
