9. Bard/Rogue
Picture this:
It's game night, you're a couple of hours in, and you've come to that crucial skill check/saving throw that is either going to mean you cut the ropes and save the day, or fail miserably and end up a Hobgoblin protein shake. All eyes are on the plastic polyhedron, as it hits the plywood with potentially earth-shattering TPK consequences.
You look at the result. A four. Again. As the DM gleefully describes your entire party getting helplessly eaten, you try and ignore the baleful, disappointed stares of your friends who haven't rolled below 17 all night. "The dice is weighted," you whisper to yourself.
The Bard/Rogue combination is for players who know this situation all too well, and want a class combination that lets them get the most amount of everything possible with the smallest risk.
Both classes include expertise, meaning that you can have eight double proficiencies. Unless your dice is cursed with eternal natural 1's, say goodbye to low rolls for the rest of the campaign.
It's also a good choice for players who like gathering as much gold as possible. With the Rogue's abilities to sneak and pickpocket, and the bard's proficiency in quick talking, consequences will quickly become that thing that happens to other people.
