10 Interesting Multiclass Options To Improve Your Dungeons & Dragons Character

7. Bard/Fighter

While Bards are fun, not everyone wants to be the fantasy equivalent of a serenading Shakespeare.

The good people at Wizard of the Coast seemed to recognise this, and introduced the College of Valor for those who want a little more swashbuckle rather than satirist.

The problem? It can take a few levels to acquire all of the college's useful skills that would make the Bard a truly viable combat class, and picking the College of Valor obviously means missing out on some of the other great bonuses the alternative colleges offer.

The solution? The first level of the fighter class gives all the bonuses and armour proficiencies of the College of Valor, leaving you free to choose another college. From a gameplay standpoint, you now have the abilities of two colleges, and are well on your way to building that smart talking Musketeer you always dreamed of having. This is a great pick for players who like utilising as many bonuses as possible. Just don't forget you still have to play the lute every now and then, to stop you from looking TOO cool.
