7. Multiple Gunmen Claim
According to the Warren Commission, the three fatal shots that killed Kennedy originated from the sixth-floor window of the Texas School Book Depository, in a time period ranging from 4.8 to 7 seconds. This claim has led many conspiracy theorists to question if Lee Harvey Oswald, widely accepted by authorities as the assassin, was capable of firing that total of shots in that period of time. Due to the rapidity and accuracy of the shots, many believe there was more than one gunman and that Oswald did not act alone, an accusation believed by most conspiracy theorists. Governor Connally, who was sat directly in front of Kennedy in the motorcade,
testified before the Warren Commission that:
"...the thought immediately passed through my mind that there were either two or three people involved, or more, in this or someone was shooting with an automatic rifle."
