10 Joe Rogan Experience Guests That Didn't Live Up To Expectations
7. Macauley Culkin #1153
Joe Rogan is human.
This might seem like a controversial statement given his insane content output and impressive adaptability, but like all of us sometimes Joe just doesn't seem to be in the right mood to have a fruitful discussion on the podcast. This definitely appeared to be the case when child star Macauley Culkin appeared on the JRE back in 2018.
It's worth noting that even as a comedian, with the sheer volume of guests that have appeared on the JRE there's bound to be a few episodes where Rogan and the guest's sense of humour just don't really mesh which is one of the problems at play here. Right from the off, there's a couple of occasions where Joe takes comments clearly meant in jest seriously that really disrupts the flow of the discussion.
Some fans online also lamented the fact that Culkin didn't talk about his association with Michael Jackson, though to be fair he has discussed this extensively in the past.
With all that being said, it is worth noting that the conversation between the two significantly improves the longer the episode goes on. One moment that was both surprising and impressive in equal measure came when Culkin discussed his love of boxing and revealed an extensive knowledge of the sport and its history, something that appeared to endear the actor to Rogan with the rest of the podcast continuing with a much more positive tone.
