10 London Pubs You Need To Drink In Before You Die

10. The Blackfriar

Where: Queen Victoria Street What: Real ale pub with incredible interior Situated next to Blackfriars station, The Blackfriar is a distinctive-looking pub both inside and out. Originally built on a site surrounded by densely packed housing (long since demolished), The Blackfriar building has a lot of character thanks to its wedge shape. It's the interior that really causes jaws to drop though. The Art Nouveau features of The Blackfriar are highly unusual, decorated with friezes of monks and slogans like "Industry Is All" and "Haste Is Slow". If you've ever wondered what it would be like to drink at a bar in Bioshock's Rapture, then The Blackfriar is an oddity well worth visiting.
