9. Barophobia
Barophobia is an irrational fear of the very force that keeps your feet planted firmly on the ground gravity. A barophobic person can be scared of gravity in a number of ways. They may be overcome with the feeling that gravity might crush them, that gravity might cause them to fall and pull them towards the ground resulting in injury and death, or that gravity is not reliable and might cease to exist, allowing them to be detached from the ground and float away without control. Barophobia can be caused by traumatic incidents of falling or being crushed, or it can be caused by an individual imagining the damage that gravity, or an absence of gravity, could do to them or the people they care about. Gravity is a force, you cant see it specifically, you can just see what it does. Being fearful of something unseen, a force that can act upon you without your control, can be terrifying.
