10 Mind-Blowing Pieces Of Evidence That Proves Lost City Of Atlantis Was Real
6. Bull Fighting Games
One of the events that was said to have gone on at the temple of Poseidon was bull fighting. This supposedly took place in the centre of the complex. Afterwards, the bulls were led away and then slaughtered on a pillar with sacred inscriptions on it.
It appears that some form of bull fighting, or at least games of some description involving bulls, took place in the center of the Palace of Knossos. Frescos have been discovered showing individuals leaping over charging bulls. Just outside the center courtyard, there is a pillar crypt – a small room with a pillar in the centre. Archaeological discoveries of other pillar crypts in the Minoan world have suggested that these were used as places of sacrifice, including the sacrifice of bulls. These pillars also had sacred engravings on them.
Some researchers thus believe that the Minoans sacrificed the bulls used in their games after the tournament. If true, this would be an amazing similarity to the Atlantean custom that Plato describes.
