Every single building in London is low-key ancient, so it's no surprise that a hotel that first opened its doors in 1865 would still be in business to this day. Also not surprising are the ghosts that roam the halls of The Langham, some of which have been haunting the popular West End hotel since its 19th century opening.

These ghosts include a German prince that jumped to his death from the fourth floor, as well as a doctor who killed his wife and himself while staying at the hotel. Along with the usual reports of otherworldly sensations during the night are guest complaints that they were shoved out of bed - by nothing - as they slept.

If that's not enough to keep you out of The Langham, know that numerous journalists from the neighbouring BBC headquarters have reported seeing ghosts during their stays at The Langham. These ghosts include that of Napoleon III, a guest who lived at The Langham during his exile. But if you're not one to trust the BBC, perhaps you should listen to the fearful rantings of an entire English pro-cricket squad, most of whom either changed rooms or refused to sleep at The Langham after being exposed to hauntings in their rooms. Reports of taps turning themselves on, lights flicking on and off, and the presence of ghosts in the rooms made international headlines when the tough-looking squad got creeped out and swore that there was something otherworldly going on at The Langham.
