How about staying at a hotel that had verifiable proof uncovered that linked reported hauntings to a real person? That's exactly what you'd get if you stayed at Dragsholm Slot Castle in Denmark.

Two of the ghosts seen at the castle, The Grey Lady and The Earl of Bothwell, were real people that inhabited the castle in the past and are now said to haunt its halls. The Grey Lady is a friendly spirit who once worked in the castle only to find herself suffering from a major toothache. After being cured by medical staff, The Grey Lady is often seen checking on visitors and making sure that everything is okay. She is in stark contrast to The Earl of Bothwell, a man who died imprisoned in the cellars and now haunts the courtyard.

But the most famous ghost at Dragsholm - the one that was uncovered in the early twentieth century - is The White Lady. The daughter of the castle's owner, she fell in love with a common worker and snuck around in secret until her father caught them. He called for her imprisonment in a secluded room in the castle, and it was decades after that people reported seeing the ghost of this young woman, a lady in a white gown, wandering the hallways. Eventually, when the castle was being renovated and the ghost stories had become legend, a castle wall was torn down and encased behind it was the skeleton of a girl dressed in a white gown.
