10 Most Haunted Places In Scotland

2. Fyvie Castle, Aberdeenshire

There are two ladies who haunt this beautiful castle and they're not to be messed with. The Grey Lady and The Green Lady haunt the castle and with the curses that they've put on the place, you'll probably think twice about wanting to linger about until night time. The Grey Lady who is supposedly the ghost of Lady Meldrum placed a curse on the castle. Whoever disturbed her resting place would trigger the curse and they would find themselves in the middle of some pretty unfortunate events. Upon her death, she ordered that her body would be sealed in the wall of the Meldrum tower. When the castle was undergoing renovation work during the 1920s, builders discovered her remains and since that day, the castle has been experiencing some spooky things that no one can explain. Her ghost has been spotted, unexplained noises are occurring almost every day and you can hear footsteps walking behind you if you're by yourself. The Green Lady didn't place any curses on the castle but she should have considering what happened to her during her lifetime. Dame Lillian Drummond was the wife of Sir Alexander Seton who was in love with Lillian's cousin. In order for the marriage to go ahead, he would have to be a widow, so he killed Lillian by starving her to death in the castle and the two later married. However, Seton didn't' realise the power of a scorned woman, even in the afterlife. When the couple were consummating their marriage, the Dame scratched her name upside down underneath the windowsill which could be seen when lying in the bed. You can still see her name there today.
