Have you thought about how much you love wires recently? You know, the bearers of those beautiful electrical signals to our TVs, mobiles, microwaves pretty much any mechanical device we cant get enough of. They dont get the credit they deserve, do wires. And now we think theyre ugly. In fact, the world is working hard to ensure that we use them as little as possible, and the results are going to be huge.
Kids growing up in a years to come will never have to plug anything in again. Homes of the future could be fully charged by wireless electricity, using coils that generate magnetic fields into the air to charge everything from bulbs to hair straighteners. This would mean your smartphone would charge sitting in your pocket as you wander around, your Xbox wouldnt have a tangle of wires messing up your room, and electric cars would refuel sitting on the drive. Pretty nifty, dont you think?
