Another 19th century fad was the art of tightlacing or waist training in order to get a desirable hour-glass figure.

Although it may seem like a good idea at first, the tightlacers of yesteryear would wear their corsets extra tight for days on end, causing dizziness, fainting, constipation and weakened back muscles.

In modern times ladies have also adopted this style of body-shaping, but pair it with exercise and a healthy diet, along with just 6 hours of (not too tight) tightlacing in order to get the hour-glass shape of their dreams.
