10 Popular Universal Studios Florida Attractions That No Longer Exist
4. Star Trek Adventure
In what is now the home of Shrek 4-D, Star Trek Adventure allowed fans of the franchise to boldly go into the franchise.
The use of green screen technology allowed guests to become part of a Star Trek episode.
The 10 minute video was introduced by Gene Roddenberry, Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner. Park goers would volunteer to dress in Star Trek uniforms and be beamed aboard the starship Enterprise where the new cadets would work alongside Uhura, Scotty, Bones and Sulu to help prevent a Klingon attack upon the Enterprise.
After the guests would finish playing out their roles they could then purchase their home video to take home as a reminder of the trip.
The ability to travel on the Enterprise came to an end in 1996 to make way for a Preview Centre for Islands of Adventure.
