10 Popular Universal Studios Florida Attractions That No Longer Exist

Opening in 2008, Disaster! took the opening day attraction Earthquake and rebranded it to create a whole new story.

Featuring Christopher Walken as movie executive Frank Kincaid, guests would be taken on a trip into the Disaster Studios. Volunteers from the audience would help Kincaid complete some scenes from his upcoming disaster movie starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, titled Mutha Nature.

In the final act of the attraction guests would become extras in the climactic earthquake scene from Kincaid's epic film. Sitting aboard a commuter subway train, suddenly an Earthquake would cause the track to crumble, the road to collapse and flood. Guests would then be treated to a trailer from Mutha Nature where they could spot themselves from the attraction.

The technology used to bring Christopher Walken to the stage was pretty impressive. It really did look like he was interacting with others on the stage.

Those who have visited both of Universal's parks in the US would have noticed the similarity between the Earthquake scene in Disaster and the one featured on the Tram Tour.

Making way for a new 3D attraction Fast & Furious: Supercharged, Disaster Studios ceased producing movies late last year.
