10 Questions You REALLY Don’t Want The Answer To

1. What Does Alcohol Do To My Body?

You don't need to be told about the obvious effects of alcohol - you see enough of that walking through town on a Friday night. It's what happens to your body in the hours following those rounds of double whiskey that are really scary. Now, our brain is something we don't really wanna mess with, but alcohol disrupts the precious outer layer of the frontal cortex, concerned with conscious thought, which is why we wake up the next day with an outbox full of soul-destroying texts we had no control over. That dull head throb you get the next day? That's your brain shrinking. That's right, SHRINKING. The morning after a heavy session, you wake up with a mouth like a dead dingo's donger and your body sends a desperate message to replenish it's water supply. So where does it steal this water from? The brain. Your body's organs pull on the membranes that connect the brain to the skull, causing it to decrease in size. Damn freaky. Next time you're glugging down a goldfish bowl of water with King Hangover a-looming, think about that. Are you traumatised? Got any more stark revelations you want to share? Offer your own in the comments thread below.
